Students participate in a hands-on stewardship day that involves planting blister rust resistant sugar pine saplings, forest quality monitoring, watershed cleanup activities and orienteering.
Lessons and service-learning experiences educate students on fire ecology, forest health, habitat restoration, related career pathways, watershed studies, and native regenerative practices.
Students work with SWEP, TTUSD, and local fire protection agencies to learn about fire prevention and mitigation practices, and create defensible space around the home of a family in need.
