Wonders of Watersheds

This watershed education program combines hands-on environmental science with community service stewardship projects to inspire students on how to take care of our local environment and our planet.

What is this program? Over the last decade, SWEP has been able to perfect this watershed education program. All watershed themed lessons are aligned with grade-level and state Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

How does this program work? Students participate in a hands-on, watershed themed, science lessons that explore issues impacting the Lake Tahoe and Truckee River Watersheds, then take action through a service project focused on improving the health of our watershed.

Who can participate in this program? The program is designed for TK- 5th grade students.

Where is this program offered? The full program is offered at Kings Beach Elementary School. the Tk/K, 1st & 4th grade lessons are offered at Glenshire, Truckee and Tahoe Lake Elementary Schools.
