What is this program? TBWES partners high school students and teachers from the Tahoe Truckee region with resource specialists, and resource conservation district personnel in an extensive watershed monitoring project in Blackwood Canyon on Lake Tahoe’s West Shore. Students learn about career pathways in environmental science, forestry, restoration and conservation, shaping the environmental leaders of tomorrow.

How does this program work? Students work along side scientific professionals and are involved in hands-on, real-world field data collection critical to developing future restoration activities.

Who can participate in this program? The program is designed for 9th-12th grade students.

Where is this program offered? Truckee High, North Tahoe High, Sierra High, Sugar Bowl Academy and South Tahoe High Schools
