What is this program? Students explore how wind, rain, and floods affect landscapes. Students learn how landforms change over time and conduct experiments to see how wind and water can cause erosion and lead to advanced landscape changes.
How does this program work? This program was designed based on the request of a KBE teacher who desired programming for her students specific to erosion and earth science.
Who can participate in this program? The program is designed for 2nd grade students.
Where is this program offered? This program is offered at Lake Tahoe beach in walking distance to Kings Beach Elementary School. Over the last several years, only Kings Beach Elementary school has participated in this program. Their location close to a beach is ideal. SWEP makes proposals for this program to other elementary schools, however their locations would require bussing to get students to local beaches.
