Sagehen Outdoor Education Program
SWEP works with the University of California at Berkeley educators to engage students in hands-on field study activities about the Sagehen forest, watershed, and the plants and animals that exist in these environments.

What is this program? Students learn about the local Tahoe area, and develop their sense of place during a multi-day, outdoor-school experience. Sessions occur throughout the year so students experience the outdoors in all seasons.
How does this program work? Students participate in a series of field study activities led by SWEP and partner organizations to learn about native plants, wildlife, watershed health, snow science and more.
Who can participate in this program? The program is designed for 5th graders.
Where is this program offered? All schools within the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District.
