SWEP & our Sustainability Club students worked hard this (virtual) year to continue advocating for change and educating the community about important sustainability issues. We are excited to announce that this work has been recognized by the Shane McConkey EcoChallenge and we were selected as winners in several categories.
The Shane McConkey EcoChallenge is an annual contest that involves students in: 1) identifying environmental issues in their schools, homes and communities, 2) designing and implementing a solution to address the identified problem, and 3) inspiring and motivating change to address climate change. This challenge offers prize money to the non-profit or school of the winner's choosing and public recognition for their efforts. This year there were 3 categories that students were able to apply for: Black Diamond, Blue Square, and Green Circle. SWEP's dedication to sustainability education with students led to a high achieving award-winning year! Not only did our clubs win, but individual club members also won for their own projects!
