Participating classrooms have an opportunity to learn about our only local trout species, Lahontan Cutthroat Trout.

What is this program?

  • Science & History:  Learn about the animals that live in our watershed, their plight and how we can help them.

  • Art: Create a recycled art piece depicting a fish that reuses materials that might otherwise be thrown away.

  • Service Learning:  Create art to promote Truckee River Day, an annual day of watershed restoration, service and watershed celebration.

How does this program work? This program is a one-time in-class session offered in the fall.

Who can participate in this program? The program is designed for K-8th grades.

Where is this program offered? All elementary and middle schools within the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District.
