School Districts
Tahoe Truckee Unified School District (TTUSD): With an unrelenting commitment to excellence, we empower our children and ourselves to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. TTUSD covers the communities of Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Truckee, and surrounding areas. SWEP works with the CalServe Initiative within Community & Youth Programs.
Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD): The Lake Tahoe Unified School District, working collaboratively with parents and the community, will provide a quality learning environment in which all students develop competence in basic skill areas and be prepared to be responsible, contributing citizens. LTUSD covers the communities of South Lake Tahoe and Meyers.

Resource Agencies
Tahoe Resource Conservation District promotes the conservation and improvement of the Lake Tahoe Basin’s soil, water and related natural resources,by providing leadership, information, programs and technical assistance to all land managers, owners, organizations and residents.
- Lake Tahoe Environmental Education Coalition assists many different groups and educational organizations in working together to educate the public about how to prevent the pollution of Lake Tahoe

- USDA Forest Service: Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit & Tahoe National Forest: Caring for the Land and Serving People is the guiding mission of the USDA Forest Service. The Tahoe Basin is managed by the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) of the Forest Service.

- Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Lake Tahoe is a magnificent blue body of water that is threatened by environmental degradation. Its famed clarity has steadily been declining due to human impact. The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) is charged with protecting this national treasure for the benefit of current and future generations. Our vision is to have a lake and environment that is clean, healthy and sustainable for the community and future generations.

- California Tahoe Conservancy (CTC) The California Tahoe Conservancy's mission is to preserve, protect, restore, enhance and sustain the unique and significant natural resources and recreational opportunities of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
- Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board & State Water Resources Control Board: The mission of the RWQCBs is to develop and enforce water quality objectives and implementation plans which will best protect the beneficial uses of the State's waters, recognizing local differences in climate, topography, geology and hydrology. Lahontan works to preserve and enhance the quality of California's water resources and ensure their proper allocation and efficient use for the benefit of present and future generations. The Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee River Watershed are within the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board.
- Nevada Tahoe Conservation District (NTCD) promotes the conservation and improvement of the Lake Tahoe Basin's natural resources by providing leadership, education, and technical assistance to all basin users.

Nonprofit Community Organizations
Teachers Association for Outdoor Adventure & Education (TAO) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which provides natural history, field science, and outdoor education experiences customized to the special needs of school groups, youth groups, and low income/disadvantaged youth. Through TAO Education, individual youths and youth groups otherwise unable to acquire this experience, are able to learn about the environment and out of doors.

- Truckee River Watershed Council (& Truckee River Aquatic Monitors) was founded in May 1998 to develop and implement locally developed public-private collaborative solutions to protect and improve water quality and biological resources for the sustainable environmental and economic health of the Truckee River watershed.
- Tahoe Rim Trail Association is a volunteer, non-profit 501(C)(3) organization established in 1981 to plan, construct, and maintain the Tahoe Rim Trail. This 165-mile, twenty-four inch, single-track trail is open to hiking, equestrians, and mountain biking (in most areas). The trail encompasses the ridge tops of the Lake Tahoe Basin, crossing six counties, and two states.
- Sierra Nevada Alliance
- League to Save Lake Tahoe was formed in 1957 and is a privately funded, non-profit, public benefit membership organization. The League is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Tahoe Basin.
- Adopt-A-Watershed is a K-12 school-community learning experience. Adopt-A-Watershed uses a local watershed as a living laboratory in which students engage in hands-on activities, making science applicable and relevant to their lives. It weaves education with the community developing collaborative partnerships and reinforcing learning through community service. The goals of Adopt-A-Watershed are to enhance K-12 science education and encourage watershed stewardship through the Adopt-A-Watershed strategy.
