Past Funding Sources:

• Proposition 13 voter-approved bonds through the California State Water Resources Control Board & the Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board: this grant funds our staff to work collaboratively with partners to develop schoolyard BMP projects, offer professional development to formal and nonformal educators, and provide leadership in place-based service learning
• Sierra Nevada Alliance: this grant partially funded the schoolyard best management practice (BMP) project at Tahoe Lake School in Tahoe City
• Alpine Winter Foundation: this grant supports the Truckee River Education Coalition and the Alder Creek program at Sagehen
• Nevada County Forest Reserve: this grant supports fire education in the Truckee area
• State Farm Good Neighbor Service-Learning Initiative: this grant supports fire education in TTUSD
• Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation

In addition to the direct funds we receive, donated labor and materials are critical for completing projects, much provided by local businesses. Our many partners, without whom projects would be much less successful, are funded by the above sources and many others. The Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Service-Learning program is funded by the CalServe K-12 Service Learning Initiative. The Tahoe Resource Conservation District is funded by Prop 13 and other sources. Perhaps the greatest contribution to the success of our programs is the enthusiastic particpation of teachers, working well beyond their school day to create and nurture innovative place-based service-learning projects.
